Associate Director of International Admission
Kelly Sumner is the Associate Director of International Admission at Marian University. She received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in English from IUPUI. Her career began with teaching English as a Second Language to students in grades K-12 in central Indiana schools before she transitioned to working in higher education in 2012. Kelly has 8 years of experience in international enrollment management, including foreign credential evaluation, recruitment, and application processing, and has worked in both small private and large public institutions. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including NAFSA, International ACAC, and AACRAO.
This presentation will give an overview of financial aid and scholarships in the US, covering affordability, different types of scholarships, financial need-based awards, need-blind vs. need aware, I-20 costs, and some general advice for students and families as they go through the US college search process.
